The ‘Principles in Child and Youth Ministry’ (PCYM) school has the purpose to serve children, youth and families worldwide by training staff workers and leaders called to reach and disciple children and youth. This course also serves as the foundation for KKI staff training, and is a fully accredited course (Faculty of Education) with the University of the Nations.

Schools are held in several strategic locations around the world and are offered in a 6 or 12 month format. However, it usually includes a three-month lecture phase and a two to three month practicum.

Course content includes an in-depth study of Biblical principles essential to effective ministry with different age groups. It also includes a study of the stages of human development, a survey of a wide cross-section of ministries to children, teens and families, and a number of ministry-related written assignments, such as a personal research project focusing on the student’s intended direction of ministry.

Successful completion of a DTS is a prerequisite for the course, for U of N accreditation and for long term involvement as an YWAM/KKI staff worker. However, in special circumstances, students who have not fulfilled this prerequisite may apply to audit the course.
