History
King's Kids South Africa is part of King's Kids International (KKI). KKI is a ministry of the international, interdenominational mission organisation Youth With A Mission (YWAM).
Origins of King's Kids International
King's Kids International began in 1976 in Hawaii under the leadership of Dale and Carol Kauffman. Since then, hundreds of teams have ministered throughout Asia, the Pacific, the Americas, Western and Eastern Europe, Africa and the Middle East. King's Kids teams have reached out to serve the poor and have impacted the wealthy. They have proclaimed God's love in a wide variety of national and international outreaches and events.
King’s Kids South Africa
For a number of years, there had been KKI initiatives within South Africa, but the ministry began in Cape Town after a visit of an international team of teenagers and KKI leaders in 1993. In May 2007 King‘s Kids Johannesburg started with pioneering and has become in September 2008 a national ministry in South Africa. The name has been changed into King’s Kids South Africa in order to reflect the broader platform for activities throughout the nation and into the continent of Africa.
